If you go down to the High Street this Thursday, you’re in for a surprise. Taunton Farmers’ Market is re-vamping its look.

Instead of the stripey green-and-white umbrellas we’ve been using for the last 20 years, we’ll be using gazebos. Stallholders will be bringing their own gazebos, which will stand alongside the market’s own, providing a range of different colours to give the market a more interesting  and roomy look. We’ll also have colourful new feather banners running along the High Street, giving the market a festival appearance.

This change comes in time for the market’s 20th Anniversary.

Yes. This April, Taunton Farmers’ Market is 20 years old! Over the coming months, we’re planning to bring a number of activities to the market, kicking off with our ‘Birthday’ celebration on April 25th. There’s free cake! Made by our wonderful Cinnamon Sugar. What better way to mark two decades of providing Taunton with fresh, locally produced produce and artisan food?

While you’re there, don’t forget to visit our stalls. We have several new stallholders to tempt your taste-buds with, along with our long-standing regulars.

Micro Greens have been here for a few weeks now, bringing delicious sprouts and shoots, aka vegetable confetti, bursting with flavour and nutrients to add to your plates.

Farmhouse Pies and Pasties are also here with a great range of delicious, ready-to-eat pies, pasties and sausage rolls. This week we are also welcoming Pagets Veg – a long-established grower offering a wide range of organic, locally-grown vegetables.

Make sure you come along on Thursday to see our new look, and browse and buy from our hard-working producers who take pride in bringing you quality local food and ingredients.
